    Actually all grains are processed to some degree or another, as raw, untouched grains are usually poisonous. And I would challenge you to find a traditional culture that lives meat-free, especially with grains, and doesn’t have severe health issues. I used the Masai as an example of a primarily meat-eating culture. Their mostly vegetarian neighbors, the Kikuyu, have had health problems at a rate much higher than the Masai, including infective diseases such as pneumonia & bronchitis, ulcers, etc.

    Actually, I was being sarcastic.

    True, there are many cultures that survive on animal products, but there are also others who eat raw veggies, fruits and genuine whole grains and do just as well.

    I think Natalie has the right idea — the main problem is the processing of food, not the natural food itself. I don’t like how Mercola and others have given grains a bad name by pointing out the abundance of refined grains on the market while failing to mention the alternatives.

    (Not sure if you are being sarcastic: if not, right on. If so, there are plenty of examples of other cultures that cut out all carbs and are very healthy. Like the eskimos: they eat almost nothing but meat and fat and they are healthy through old age. Or the masai, nothing but red meat, cow’s blood, and milk. I stil eat some veggies, fruits, and nuts but acknowledge that meat provides the maximum nutritional value for humans.

    @TreachMarkets Yeah, and while you’re at it, cut out all vegetables, fruits, nuts, dairy and legumes. Eat nothing but meat and eggs, since those are the only carb-free foods.

    Great video. I especially like the tidbit that the 12 grains of “12-Grain Bread” are just sprinkled on the top of what may be white bread. I won’t be fooled by that claim when I go to the grocery store.

    Good info, but the ideal solution is to cut all bread, and all other grains out of your diet. Most people don’t need all those extra carbs, even if they are low-glycemic carbs.

    Thank you very much. Yes, I’ll work to get the white bread out of my diet. It’s just hard seeing that I’m only 15 and can’t buy my own food most of the time. My parents get white bread, but I’ll see if I can make them get some healthier choices.

    @LittleDancingAngel

    Try Alvarado Street Bakery stone ground whole grain breads or Food For Life 7 sprouted grain bread. It’s important for it to be either sprouted or sour dough. Go to Weston A Price’s and learn more.

    I like Berlin Bakery sour dough 100% stone ground whole grain spelt bread but you might want to try the others first to aquire a taste. If you truly understand the havoc that white bread is causing to your health you’ll force yourself to forgo without the “flluffy ” bread

    Does anyone have any tips for making wheat bread taste good? I mean… I want to get it but… it tastes really bad. At least it tastes bad compared to the while, fluffy, heavenly looking bread. Know any tips I can use for downing it? Or should I just stick with my Flax Wraps?

    White rice in its natural state isn’t actually white at all. Manufacturers bleach it white (using unhealthy chemicals) so that it is more marketable and appealing.

    It’s also important to look for the words “Stone
    Ground”

    I have a tip for Americans: If your bread is SOFT it’s bad. Even though it might be labelled and look like whole grain.Over here in Germany, our whole grain bread is HARD.
