Hemorrhoids are a fairly common condition. They occur when blood vessels around the anus, rectal tunnel, or lower rectum get swollen and inflamed. Hemorrhoids are also known as piles. Pain, itching, and bleeding are all common symptoms of hemorrhoids, and the condition is not limited to any one age group.
